Our Group consisting of Magdalena Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva defended their European title in the all-around, and in the girls’ Dara Malinova and Magdalena Valkova took silver in the ribbon and bronze in the shot put finals respectively.
“Girls, I just want to tell you that you make the whole Bulgaria cry, stand on their feet, feel incredible national pride when they hear the anthem. This time it sounded three times in the hall. The moment when the anthem stopped and you continued singing was unique. The hall rose to its feet. It was a unique moment that I think fills the hearts of all Bulgarians with pride. The verse of our poet and writer Ivan Vazov “All Bulgaria is watching you now” comes to my mind. All Bulgaria will continue to watch you and support you. Once upon a time everything happened on the battlefield. I wish you to have stoicism, patience, motivation, courage, faith, because you must believe that you are the best. Fingers crossed that in Paris you can show what you are capable of. We will be by your side, we will stand behind you now and in the future,” said one of the co-founders of the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation, Rossi McKee, when welcoming the gymnasts.
She congratulated the Bulgarian graces for their successes so far and wished them success at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris this summer. “We at the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation are extremely proud to be able to support your efforts and be part of your success. We are confident that you will continue to delight us with more achievements and medals,” added Rossi McKee.
