Ivan Cherkezov: The club's virtual museum reminded me that Levski is my life

Calgary-based Bulgarian talks about his first visit to the Blues’ new digital exhibit

“Levski is our life, I remembered it when I entered the virtual museum”. These are the words of Ivan Cherkezov, who lives in Calgary, Canada. The Bulgarian’s story shows that the love for his beloved team knows no boundaries, and the new virtual museum of the Blues has allowed him to immerse himself in the glorious history of the club, despite being more than 8,000 km away from his homeland.

“Friends, if by chance you have not been to the museum before, do it, because it is truly worth it,” Cherkezov said of the digital exhibit, which was created with the support of the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation and Levski’s general sponsor. He adds that the new virtual museum also has an English version, which allows foreigners to learn more about the team and its history.

“I have shared it with all my friends from four different continents, and everyone is impressed by what Levski is, not only for Bulgaria but for the whole world,” Cherkezov adds.

Working with children and young people with special needs, Ivan Cherkezov discovered that sport is one of the few things that brings people together, breaks down barriers and, above all, inspires hope.

As soon as he logs into the club’s virtual exhibition with his membership card number, Ivan is immersed in the club’s 110-year history and the glorious moments that make every Levski proud. “I went to school in 112. When there was a match at the Gerena and Levski scored, you could hear the crowd to our classroom,” Cherkezov recalls.

In an emotional video, the Bulgarian recounts some of the team’s most memorable moments, including Nikolay Todorov’s unforgettable winner against Glasgow in the replay in Sofia, which saw the Blues eliminate the Scottish giants from European competition. He also talks about other victorious matches in the history of Levski. He invites all the Blues fans who want to remember interesting and glorious moments in the history of their favorite club to visit the virtual museum.
