“As professional athletes, we face a lot of hardships on a daily basis. But in order to be champions, we have higher goals than our temporary problems”, said the absolute European champion in rhythmic gymnastics from Baku 2023 Boryana Kaleyn this Saturday on “Sport in BG”.
During the visit, the Bulgarian grace shared details about her preparations for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the upcoming Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia in April, and the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary in May. The young athlete emphasized the importance of supporting Bulgarian sport, which gives Bulgarian athletes a chance to compete and represent the country at world level.
“It is very good that there are organizations like Sport in Bulgaria Foundation that support Bulgarian sport because we need it. It is extremely important when you have facilities where you can prepare. I am very happy that there are foundations that truly care about Bulgarian sport to enable us to continue to maintain a very high level in the world,” added Boryana Kaleyn in connection with the support provided by the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation from the beginning of 2024.
At the beginning of 2024, the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation officially announced its support to the “golden girls” of the national rhythmic gymnastics team as part of its mission to support the development of professional sport in Bulgaria. In addition, the Foundation strives to support children’s and youth schools, as well as to help develop grassroots sport and promote physical activity among young people.
“I started training when I was 6. I’m turning 24 this year, so I’d say gymnastics is something I’ve done my whole conscious life. In sports, talent gives you an advantage over others, but your discipline, not giving up and fighting, would prevail at some point,” Kaleyn said during the “Sport in BG” show.
The show “Sport in BG”, hosted by Anatoly Georgiev and supported by the “Sport in Bulgaria” Foundation, is broadcast every Saturday at 10:00 am and informs about the most important in the world of Bulgarian sport with guests in the studio, interviews, and a review of the most significant sporting events of the past week.
