Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliana Nikolova and women’s group will represent Bulgaria at the Olympic Games in Paris. The decision, which determines that the seven girls will compete at the biggest sports forum on the planet, was announced today by the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.
National athletes Boryana Kaleyn and Stiliana Nikolova will represent Bulgaria in the individual competition at the Summer Olympics in Paris in just one month. The backup is Elvira Krasnobaeva. The women’s Group of Magdalena Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva will be looking to defend their Olympic title in the ensembles.
Also today, the BOC General Assembly confirmed the Bulgarian delegation for the Olympic Games, which begin on July 26. The delegates decided that Bulgaria will be represented by 45 athletes in 16 sports in the most prestigious competition on the planet. At the same time, BOC President Stefka Kostadinova announced that the flag bearers of the Bulgarian delegation in the parade of nations during the opening of the Olympics will be boxer Stanimira Petrova and swimmer Peter Mitzin.
For their part, part of our delegation in rhythmic gymnastics are the head coach of the individual Branimira Markova, personal coaches of the two graces Mariana Pamukova and Valentina Ivanova, head coach of the women’s ensemble Vesela Dimitrova and her assistant Yasena Stoyneva, Dr. Marian Dobrev, psychologists prof. Tatiana Yancheva and Steliana Yankova and kinesiotherapists Georgi Ryakhov and Jason Petusis. The leader of our delegation in this sport is the President of BFHG Iliana Raeva.
The rhythmic gymnastics competition is between 8 – 10 August. We wish good luck to our graces and to all the athletes who represent Bulgaria!
