Partnership between NSA and Sport in Bulgaria Foundation gives a new momentum to Bulgarian sport

The National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” and Foundation “Sport in Bulgaria” are joining forces to boost the development of Bulgarian sports and promote it through collaborative initiatives. This was announced by NSA Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov and Rossi McKee, co-founder of Sport in Bulgaria Foundation, during the signing of a partnership agreement. The event was attended by representatives of the academy’s leadership and the foundation, including Executive Director Vyara Velikova.

This partnership lays the groundwork for joint initiatives aimed at increasing the impact and visibility of sports in Bulgaria.

Driven by a shared commitment to fostering personal and social growth through sports, both organizations will focus on supporting scientific research, developing professional sports, and creating more opportunities for people of all ages to engage in physical activity.

“With this partnership, we are bridging the worlds of academic excellence and sporting achievement. This collaboration is a natural extension of our shared vision and dedication to building a strong future for Bulgarian sports. Foundation ‘Sport in Bulgaria’ and the National Sports Academy are united in their determination to overcome modern challenges and create new pathways to success for athletes,” said Rossi McKee.

Together, we will work to ensure that young athletes receive the support, guidance, and infrastructure they need to continue excelling and gaining recognition. Most importantly, we aim to help instill in them values such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, qualities that extend beyond sports and shape great leaders and responsible citizens,” said Rossi McKee.

NSA Rector Prof. Krasimir Petkov emphasized the importance of adapting to a constantly evolving environment to attract young people to sports and sports science and encourage them to continue their education at the Academy.

The dynamic changes in today’s world constantly push us to seek new challenges that will inspire young people to engage in sports and sports education. The success and stability we achieve are the result of the collective spirit within NSA, every element in our system is in place and plays its role. Sports serve as a tool to guide young people towards a meaningful way of life, helping them face modern challenges,” Prof. Petkov stated.

A key focus of the agreement includes the organization of sporting events, educational campaigns, and training seminars aimed at inspiring and engaging more Bulgarians in sports.
