The founders of the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation Milo Borisov and Rossi McKee received special awards during the International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament “Sofia Cup” for their overall contribution to the development of the sport, as well as for the funding and provision of a prize fund of 20,000 euros at the competition, reports BGNES.
Both were awarded with one engraved diamond with the logo of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRGF), while Borisov also received a framed leotard of Styliana Nikolova – our grace won a gold medal in the all-around at the World Championships in Valencia last year. President of the home federation Iliana Raeva and vice-president of the BRGF Nevyana Vladinova took part in the award ceremony.
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to support this hugely successful tournament, which takes place today and involves 36 countries from 5 continents. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the warm welcome and the warm presentation of the awards. This is a great honour for us. I am extremely proud that we can be together and work with the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation. I wish Bulgarian gymnastics in this Olympic year to delight us with many Olympic medals and many achievements,” Borisov said.
“On my behalf and on behalf of the Sport in Bulgaria Foundation, which we represent, it is a great pleasure for us to stand next to the young Bulgarian athletes, to stand next to the rhythmic gymnastics federation and to our excellent champions who are winning world titles and performing excellently in Bulgaria and all over the world. I wish them success and only onwards and upwards,” were McKee’s words.
The Sofia Cup International Tournament is a dress rehearsal for our gymnasts before the World Cup in the capital, which will be held at Arena Sofia from 12-14 April.
