Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalist in rhythmic gymnastics, Boryana Kaleyn, has been named “Athlete of Sofia” for 2024. The Olympic vice-champion dominated the voting, securing first place across all ballots and setting a record with 45 points.

This recognition comes after an outstanding year for Kaleyn, highlighted by her silver medal in the all-around at the Paris Olympics, a European title on hoop, and several other notable achievements.

The second edition of the poll was organized by the Media Council of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, with leading sports journalists participating. Each journalist nominated their top three athletes, with points allocated as follows: 5 points for first place, 3 for second, and 1 for third.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Museum of Sports in early February, with the exact date aligned with the competition schedules of the winners.
